Blog of the Green Mage

This Blog is kind of an extension to my Youtube Page, and they pretty much go hand-in-hand. Here I post about what video game playthroughs I am currently doing and which ones I'm thinking about doing in the future, my thoughts on games I've played and gaming news, and maybe just what's been up with me lately.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Posted by Gamree the Green Mage

     Just got back from work tonight, and wanted to quickly wish everyone a happy Fourth of July since this will practically be the only time today I will get the chance type this out.  Hopefully your day will go better than mine, and make sure you don't go overboard with teh fireworks and accidentally/illegally blow something up (but if you do, at least make sure you blow it up in style [that's a joke, don't blow anything up  <.<;]).  Also something else I wanted to post about, but am too tired at the moment to type it all up and link it, so maybe I will edit this post tomorrow night when I get the chance (yeah right...).

Happy Independence Day, Gamree. Take care of yourself, and when you can, rest and recharge.

Hey Gamree! I love your vids, you actually saved me from many deaths on monster hunter 3(for example when i got pinned by a rathian i remebered you throwing a dung bomb at its face while you were pinned)any way, what i was curious about was do you record your voice while your fighting the monster on monster hunter 3 or do you have to in-sert your commentary after you fight it?, i was also just letting you know, your not the only person i know with that accent, one of my freinds has it to, his is more of a spanish accent though, therefor i for one think you have somekind of spanish accent.

Yo what up Gamree!, its me (again) and just wanted to let you know (if you dont already) that the agnaktor on monster hunter 3 is a lava/magma version of the lagiacrus that can dig into the ground like the uroctor's. It can also shoot a beam of energy or something, you'l definetly wanna watch out for that! And i would love to do research on future monsters for you so just give me a shout out during a video and ill post here on your blog of the requested monster.Keep up the videos!And if you do give me a shout out, just call me Nelson, no reason to put my name on youtube!

Hey Cole, glad my preemptive pain and suffering have helped you during your own Monster Hunting experience. Seems to be the case with a lot of other hunters who have been watching my vids. =P Anyway, all of my narration and commentary in my playthroughs (so far) have been live and on the spot, as in I record myself speaking while I am playing the game. I have to drag the audio and video files into Sony Vegas and try to sync them up manually as best I can, so sometimes the gameplay and my voice don't always match up by a second or two, but I have been doing live commentary in my vids. I believe that it's better to get my first reactions/impressions of what's happening rather than try and fake it by doing post-commentary while re-watching my vids. In cases of informative videos, like my OFDR Mission 3 Walkthrough Redux, I use post-commentary because I think it is better suited for that kind of video (You need to know what you're talking about during a walkthrough, but since I'm just doing MH3 for fun and entertainment, live commentary works just fine).

As for the Agnaktor, thanks for the heads up, but I already fought and recorded the Agnaktor battle about three weeks ago. The video files have just been sitting around on my comp's hard drive waiting for me to get around to editing and rendering those vids. O_O; There use to be only a two week difference between what I uploaded on Youtube and where I actually was in the game, but due to increased college work and that confounded Twilight, I'm now three weeks behind on video uploads. ;-; Also, thanks for the offer, but I like to do my own research on the monsters before going into the fight. I look up just enough so I know what might be the best weapon/element to use against them or what they're best known for, but besides that, I like going into the fights blind so it's more of a surprise for me and gives me a bit more to talk while I'm getting crushed/smashed/eaten/spit-roasted/chewed/shredded/mauled. <.<;

Thanks for the comments and hope you continue to enjoy my videos. =D
