The Accent...
So yeah, I was planning on eventually addressing this on my blog in the future anyway, but there's been a huge surplus of people asking me about my accent lately, so I guess it's about time I added this to the More About Me page.
Yes, I was born outside the United States over in Europe. However, that was due to my family being Military and being stationed over in Europe at the time of my birth, and we moved back to the USA shortly after I was born, so from what I can tell, the place of my birth doesn't really factor in too much when explaining my accent., if at all. The accent didn't actually show up until I hit 4th or 5th Grade, and I am the only one in my entire family who has this kind of accent. And when I say family, I don't just mean my parents and my older brother, I mean my ENTIRE family, as in Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, etc. While some of them have accents of their own, at least their obviously identifiable, while mine is still, "What kind of accent is that?" Heck, I've even had two of my aunts ask me that question themselves. I can't hear the accent myself when I speak, so I have asked a ton of people in the past how my accent sounds to them. None of them, not a single one, has been able to place it, and those who have taken a stab at it have given me such differing answers that it still remains a mystery. It comes and goes at random when I talk, and also has the incredibly odd tendency to actually change to a certain type of accent at times (two most common cases of this would be when I strongly begin speaking with a British/English accent or with a Mexican/Spanish accent). The accent most often kicks in full force when I am extremely tired (reason why I no longer try to record commentary in the morning XD). To the best of my knowledge as well as what I have gathered from trying to figure it out in my life, it is most likely a mix-up, mash-up of different accents/dialects/etc combined into one. Why exactly I have it, I have no clue. So now, as I have made it custom to ask after each and every time I have explained my accent to people, comes the almighty question I would like to know from you: What does my accent sound like to YOU?
^The above paragraph is basically what I have been telling EVERYONE in my life when they ask about my accent, and it only took me about a minute or two to write that out. Yes, I have had to explain this to that many people. =P
Don't really know what else to put on this page for the moment, so you can help me out by sending me any questions about myself, and I will answer them here if I feel like it. =D
